Oedema describes fluid accumulations in tissues. The causes can vary greatly: decreased cardiac capacity, lymphatic drainage disorders, inflammation, kidney or liver problems. The cause must be clarified to ensure the correct therapy!
Pascodem® Tropfen: drain naturally!
What is Pascodem®?
Pacodem® is a medicine with 3 natural active substances that stimulate fluid excretion. It is used for fluid accumulation in tissues. It has an effect on urine output, i.e. a draining, or in specialist language, diuretic effect. Diuretics are, thus, draining medicines that help more fluid to be eliminated via the kidneys. Diuretics are colloquially often referred to as “water pills.”
Pacodem® is, thus, a mild and natural diuretic in the form of drops.
The big advantage: No side effects or interactions with other medicines are known. Pascodem® can, therefore, also be used in combination with medically prescribed medicines.
For whom is Pacodem® suitable?
The causes of swelling vary, and therapy must depend on the type of oedema or its causes. For example, in the case of lymphoedema, use of diuretics is usually not useful. Therefore, please always first clarify why the water retention occurred. Diuretics are suitable if the oedema is a so-called low-protein oedema, i.e. pure water retention.
Such water retention occurs in, for example, the following:
- older people due to heart failure
- problems with the liver, kidneys, or veins
- hormonal dysregulation (cycle-dependent)
- side effects of medications (e.g. after taking cortisone)
- protein deficiency in the blood
- lack of exercise
After consultation with your doctor, a gentle and natural diuretic, such as Pacodem®, could initially be used in mild cases.
What is special about Pascodem®?
Pascodem® is a natural medicine with 3 active ingredients.
The special feature is that the plant, Ononis spinosa (spiny restharrow), is present as a so-called mother tincture. Mother tinctures are the concentrated active substances that serve as starting materials for homeopathic potentiations. Since they are concentrated, i.e. not potentiated and thus also not diluted, they take, in the case of herbal active substances, an intermediate position between a herbal and homeopathic mode of action.
The spiny restharrow is both a traditional medicinal plant and a homeopathic remedy to stimulate urination and drainage.
The other two active substances, Apis mellifica and Kalium carbonicum, complement the effect of Ononis spinosa.
Unless otherwise prescribed:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older
Acute: Take 5 drops every half hour to one hour, no more than 6 times per day.
Chronic: take 5 drops 3 times a day.
