What Vitapas ® B complex does for your health

Vitapas® B complex is a dietary supplement containing all 8 important vitamins of the B complex: to support the nervous system (e.g. vitamin B 6, pyridoxine)5, energy metabolism (e.g. niacin, formerly called “vitamin B3”)3 and to reduce tiredness and fatigue (e.g. vitamin B12, methylcobalamin)8.

It also contains pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which is important for mental performance4; riboflavin (vitamin B2), which protects the body against oxidative stress2; thiamine (vitamin B1) for a healthy heart1; folic acid (vitamin B9), which plays an important role for the immune system7; and biotin (vitamin B7) - the vitamin for skin and hair6. All B vitamins have other important functions in the body.

The B vitamins - complex and extremely versatile

  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine)1
Vitamin B1 is often referred to as the mood vitamin or the ‘good mood vitamin’. This is due to its important role for the nervous system and the mind. In addition, thiamine plays an essential role in energy metabolism and heart function.
  • Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)2
Vitamin B2 is important not only for normal mucosal function, but also for vision. Its relevance for the metabolism can be seen, among other things, through its co-responsibility in reducing tiredness and fatigue.
  • Vitamin B3 (niacin)3
Niacin is found in all body cells and, like vitamin B12, is stored in the liver. It is important for the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
  • Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)4
Vitamin B5 plays an essential role in energy metabolism. It is a component of an important enzyme – coenzyme A – and therefore important for the degradation of macronutrients, e.g. to amino acid and glucose. It is also co-responsible for the synthesis of hormones, various messenger substances, and vitamin D.
  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxamine, and pyridoxal)5
Vitamin B6 acts as a co-factor for more than 100 enzymes, and is involved in many protein and fat metabolism processes. It is important, among other things,  for the immune system, the nervous system, the homocysteine metabolism (vascular health), and for the formation of the red blood pigment, haemoglobin.
  • Vitamin B7 (biotin)6
Vitamin B7 or biotin is also known as vitamin H or coenzyme R. It is important for normal mucous membranes, the nervous system, and mental function. Like most other B vitamins, it is also involved in energy metabolism.
  • Vitamin B9 (folic acid)7
Vitamin B9 is more commonly known as folic acid. It is a vitamin that is involved in cell division processes and blood formation. Together with vitamin B12 and vitamin B6, it is involved in homocysteine metabolism (vascular health).
  • Vitamin B12 (cobalamin)8
Vitamin B12 is also called cobalamin and is primarily contained in foods of animal origin. It contains the trace element, cobalt, as the central element. Vitamin B12 is important for mental function, cell renewal, the immune system, and healthy nerves. Together with folic acid and vitamin B6, vitamin B12 is also responsible for homocysteine metabolism (vascular health).
